ADX RENOVABLES SL will supply more than 115 million kWh of electricity to the buildings and facilities of different universities during 2025
▪ These are universities in Castilla la Mancha, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, La Rioja, Murcia, Oviedo, the Public University of Navarra and Zaragoza
March 6, 2025.– Adx Renewables, ADX, a marketing company of Grupo Audax Renovables, has been awarded the 100% contract for the electricity supply provided for in the first contract based on the framework agreement corresponding to the joint contracting of the supply of electricity for the buildings and facilities of the Universities of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Illes Balears, La Rioja, Murcia, Oviedo, Public University of Navarra and Zaragoza. The contract based on the 2025 year period signed by ADX with these entities has determined an awarded volume of more than 115 GWh/year.
All the energy supplied will be of 100% renewable origin, thus reinforcing the commitment that the Universities have with the environment and with renewable and sustainable energies.
ADX Renovables has been the energy company that has presented the best proposal for the first year of the framework agreement for the 178 low and high voltage supply points, beating the marketing company THE YELLOW ENERGY SLU for the first based contract, raising the value of the contract to more than 16 million euros (VAT not included).
The contract has been awarded under the fixed price modality for the 2.0TD rates and under the OMIE Indexed price modality with the possibility of coverage for the 3.0TD, 6.1TD and 6.2TD rates, allowing universities to adjust the cost of electricity, and offering greater control and power over the final price to be paid based on the most optimal market conditions.
The Indexed to OMIE modality with the possibility of hedging offers clear advantages. Firstly, economic savings, since it allows companies to benefit from price reductions in the wholesale market, which can translate into significant savings on their energy bills. Secondly, transparency and control, because indexed rates are linked to the market price and offer greater transparency in energy costs. In addition, the option of converting to a fixed price based on market developments allows greater control over the final price to be paid and to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the futures market. And thirdly, this modality offers flexibility, since the possibility of hedging allows companies to adjust their energy purchasing strategy based on future forecasts, thus optimising their energy management.
Marc Blasi, Country Manager of Audax Renovables in Spain, points out: “We offer a high-quality energy service to public administrations. Our offer has been the best valued considering not only the price, but also other aspects such as service capacity and speed of response.” “This new award is further proof that we are capable of providing a reliable service at very competitive prices,” he adds.
